Denver Zoo - 07/2009 : I was in Denver this weekend and had some free time, so I spent it at the zoo. It was pretty warm, but the animals seemed to tolerate it pretty well. I didn't. The lighting conditions were a challenge too, but I think overall I got some pretty good shots. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane.

Cougar Mountain Zoo - 11/2008 : The tiger cubs, Taj (golden) & Almos (white), are now about 350lbs... about 3/4 of their full-grown size! I had a great opportunity to go behind the scenes with the help of the curator to get these unobstructed shots. It's been fun documenting their growth over the past couple years. Looking forward to the next visit when they'll be even bigger! Oh yea, took some shots of the cranes too.

Arizona Senora Desert Museum - 04/2008 : Christian & I spent the weekend in Phoenix to escape the gray & damp weather of Seattle. We were greeted with 95+ degree temps and LOTS of sunshine! Just what the doctor ordered! We drove down to Tucson to do some exploring and went to the Arizona Senora Desert Museum. It's like a zoo, botanical gardens, earth science center and nature preserve all in one place! Check out their WEBSITE to learn more about the flora & fauna that thrive in the southwest desert.

Day 2: Monterey Bay Aquarium : What can I say about this place? WOW! Absolutely amazing! Sea Otters and Sharks and Jellyfish... oh my! We will definitely be going back to this area to spend some more time around town. So much to do down there!

Cougar Mountain Zoo - 03/2008 : I bought a new Canon 40D and needed to try it out. What better place to do that than at the Cougar Mountain Zoo! The tiger cubs, Taj & Almos, have grown so much in the past 7 mos. Scary thing is, at 200lbs. they're not even half their full-grown size! And the cougars were out enjoying the nice weather too. It was a great day!

Day 5: San Diego Wild Animal Park (from 2nd Anniv trip) : We picked one of the hottest days of the summer to go to the Wild Animal Park (it was in the high-90s with no breeze - it was miserable!) We decided to pay the extra arm & leg and took a truck tour, which takes you down into the "savanna" to feed the giraffes! It was well worth the money! We'll definitely go back there some day, when it's much cooler tho!
